It had been a year or two since we took the long bumpy lane up to Carn Brea Castle and we soon remembered how worthwhile it was. The views are astounding and on a clear night we watched a spectacular sunset from the Castle roof. We arrived to log fires and candles, a perfect setting for Simon’s birthday which we shared with family and some of our dearest guests who have become firm friends. The food is Lebanese and we shared a mix of dips and wonderful breads and olives as starters before our main meals. This is a setting like no other and with such great food I am surprised its not as well known as it should be. Maybe we should just keep it as our secret. Ending the night up on the roof terrace watching the last of the sunset was just a beautiful way to end a special day. Will be adding this to the top of my special places to eat out and it’s just 4 miles from Little White Alice.
